Chef’s Armoury celebrates 15 years with exclusive blade exhibition

  • Written by The Bulletin

Premium Japanese culinary brand, Chef’s Armoury, is thrilled to celebrate 15 years with a string of masterclasses and an exclusive product reveal to be featured at their “From the Vault Exhibition” this November.

Renowned as the first importer of handmade Japanese knives to Australia, retailer of rare cult Japanese ingredients and educator of Japanese cooking culture and Sake, the highly respected providore will host a string of events that chefs and foodies alike will be clamouring to attend.

The ‘From the Vault Exhibition’, will be held concurrently at their flagship stores in both Sydney and Melbourne. An exhibit rich in Japanese craftsmanship and history, there will be displays of traditional Japanese and impossible-to-find blades. Masterclasses and demonstrations of specialist knife sharpening using Japanese waterstones, plus insights into the art of making and enjoying Sake.

Owners Leigh and Stephanie Hudson are even more excited about the limited edition, special release of bespoke Japanese knives to mark their 15th year anniversary, a range that will be revealed at the Exhibition and will be made available for purchase.

This husband-and-wife team forever transformed the culinary landscape for both professional chefs and home cooks, as the first to import handmade Japanese blades to Australia during a time where chefs were commonly wielding bulkier European knives.

Starting as a small import operation out the back of a café in Sydney’s inner suburbs in 2007, the business evolved and forged a reputation for the place chefs come to arm themselves with the very best kitchen ordinance.

Chef’s Armoury has always been about sharing the very best of Japanese craftsmanship. The ‘From the Vault Exhibition’ displays the diversity, beauty and mastery of Japanese knives, and exemplifies our vision over the last 15 years”, says Leigh Hudson.
