A Gastronomy Tour Through Sydney

  • Written by DIALOGUE PR & COMMUNICATIONS

While Australians are not able to tour the world, affordable luxury hotel brand SKYE Suites is offering a taste of travel at  their three properties; Green Square, Parramatta and Sydney. With a passion for creating an urban oasis and an all encompassing experience, SKYE Suites is providing guests the opportunity to become a culinary tourist in their own city  with world-class food precincts right at their doorstep.

Sit back, relax and unwind as SKYE Suites take your taste buds on a global gastronomy tour through Asia, Europe and  more, in the comfort of the hotel or just a short walk away. While current restrictions limit skiing the slopes in Japan or  taking a historical walk through Portugal, SKYE Suites has the next best thing!

Here’s what will get your taste buds tingling at each SKYE suites scene:

SKYE Suites Sydney

Conveniently located in the heart of the CBD, guests can simply walk, drive or ride into their luxury city stay to be surrounded by some of the most unique cuisines in Sydney.

After check-in, revel in the “ice-cave” inspired pool area, admire Sydney’s skyline from the suite or stroll down to the new Skittle Lane precinct, considered one of Sydney’s best kept secrets.

Dinner – Once settled in, dress up and take your taste buds on an unconventional tour of French/Portuguese cuisine at Meu Jardim that boasts cool archiectural vibes of a glacier in the Swiss Alps. While it might portray a cold fascade, the dishes are sure to warm the soul with succulent duck breast, Steak au Poivre and premium escargot all on the menu!

Drinks – Perfect for continuing or starting the night, the unique cocktail bar PS40 is sure to please. Must trys include the electrifying Africola cocktail, a hot and cold hit of Mr Black cold brew coffee liquer, native  cola and coconut foam or for something tropical, order the Salted Pina Colada consisting of Plantation 3 Star Rum, fresh  lime, cold pressed pineapple, Coco Lopez and Murray River salt.

Breakfast – After a peaceful slumber in the spacious suite, guests can help themselves to a Nespresso coffee as they  embrace the bustling city from the balcony. For something a little more filling, take the elevator downstairs and a short  stroll to coffee connoisseurs Skittle Lane Café to enjoy the infamous, jaw dropping

Penny Fours pastries and Butter Boy cookies.

SKYE Suites Parramatta

Known as Sydney’s second CBD, Parramatta is perfect for seasoned travellers and foodies alike looking to find the untouched treasures in the restaurant realm, and SKYE Suites is the perfect base from which to explore.

Breakfast – When staying at SKYE Suites Parramatta, start the day right at The Shed Café on the hotel ground floor offering  the best of both continental and modern breakfast foods. Tempt your palate with the Mediterranean Magic of steaming poached eggs, sautéed mushrooms, chili labneh and vibrant pomegranate served on charcoal sourdough or get a zing with  a refreshing acai bowl, superb for the summer season. Through the day, enjoy delectable cocktails on the sundeck alongside the lengthy infinity pool, take a nap in the glorious afternoon breeze or hit the state-of-the-art gymnasium to  make room for a filling dinner.

Dinner – End a balmy day at Middle Eastern-inspired Bayti, perfect for small groups and large families. With sharing  banquets galore, try the flavoursome 12-hour roasted lamb shoulder that melts in the mouth and household favorites  including the pomegranate tabbouleh and crispy cauliflower. Season the night with Booza – a scrumptious berries and ice cream dish.

SKYE Suites Green Square

The newest hotel in the collection, SKYE Suites Green Square offers both a place of tranquillity and liveliness with food offerings to match. Located a train stop from the city and just a few kilometers from the airport, this urban oasis is ideally positioned for guests to step out and discover the latest trendy cafés and dining experiences.

Breakfast - For breakfasts bigger than the bowls and the best coffee drip, try Social Society located at the foot of the exquisite Infinity building.

Prepare your palate for electric taste explosions of Salmon Ramen the Millennial Bruschetta and Instagram favourite, Ricotta Popping Hot Cakes.

Following this, pamper yourself by the pool or at the nail salon just downstairs. For a small snack or something to tie you  over, visit Gong Cha for a juicy Taiwanese milk tea or Miracle supermarket to suffice any cravings.

Lunch/ Dinner – For those that prefer a sleep in, visit Nam2 for lunch, dinner or drinks. Offering authentic south-east Asian  flavours, prepare for zesty Saigon spring rolls, belly-warming chicken laksa and Nam’s famous fried rice – yum!

Drinks – For drinks, try Australia’s most highly awarded distillery, Archie Rose at its Rosebery  bar located a short five-minute walk from the hotel. For pre-planners, book SKYE Suites new  Spirits in the SKYE package created in collaboration with Archie Rose including  accommodation, car parking, a late checkout of 12 noon and tickets to the Archie Rose  Distillery Tour and Tasting all from just $209. *
